The Route

How the Dubai to Umm Al Quwain car lift works

Umm Al Quwain is the smallest emirate by population, and that shapes the service. Departures are fewer than on the Sharjah and Ajman runs, they are booked further ahead, and a private car is taken more often than a shared seat because groups travel together at weekends. Fares on this run are AED 90 a seat and AED 190 for the whole car, with fuel and the Salik gates on the Dubai side inside the figure. A monthly commuter seat is AED 3,500. The page covers the departures, what the fare buys on a longer run, the Dubai districts we collect from, where we finish in Umm Al Quwain, the road itself, and whether a monthly seat is worth it on a route most people travel weekly rather than daily. Six questions follow.
AED 90

All in, per seat

What a seat north costs

Sixty-five kilometres at the same fare as a thirty kilometre hop, fixed before you travel.
  • Fuel for the full run north
  • Salik gates on the Dubai side
  • Door-to-door collection and drop
  • Boot space for a weekend bag
  • A held seat on the monthly plan
  • Free cancellation up to 12 hours ahead
Measured per kilometre this is among the better value runs we sell, which is why groups tend to take the whole car.

Where we collect in Dubai

Collection covers the districts that feed the northern road, in the order the road takes them.

Deira and Al Qusais

The natural start for a northbound run and the quickest of the pickups.

Bur Dubai and Karama

Steady weekday demand, mostly staff travelling to the industrial areas.

Business Bay and DIFC

Office finishes on the 17:30 window.

Silicon Oasis and Academic City

Already on the inland road, collected late in the sequence.

Dubai Marina

The longest start. Book the earlier window if you are travelling from here.
Drops cover Al Salama, Al Raas, Al Humrah, Al Haditha and the old town, plus the industrial area on request.

The E311 north, and when it matters

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road carries almost all of this corridor, and it is the reason the journey is as predictable as it is. The road runs inland of Sharjah and Ajman rather than through them, so the queues that define those two routes barely touch this one. What you get instead is a long open stretch where the only real variable is how long the Dubai collections take. The coastal road through Sharjah and Ajman exists as an alternative and is occasionally quicker for the old town end of Umm Al Quwain outside peak hours. Drivers take it rarely and only when the inland road is blocked. For anything at the Al Salama or Al Raas end, the inland road is the sensible choice at every hour of the day.

Monthly seat or pay per trip

This corridor splits differently from the commuter routes: most riders travel weekly, not daily.
Best value

Per trip

AED 90 each. The right answer for most people on this route, including everyone travelling at weekends or once or twice a week.

Monthly seat

AED 3,500 total. Worth it only at five days a week, which on this corridor means industrial and port staff rather than office workers.
In short
We will say plainly which one suits your pattern rather than sell you the larger number.
